HOUSING
A directory of who lives where in Bower Village and the nearby area.
If your character is still in need of a place to stay, whether or not anyone is willing to make any space available - and under what terms - will be listed here. Updates on housing opportunities will also be posted to the bulletin board!
TOWN HALL
Residents: Anette
With Thomas, Zeke, and Jonah all having houses of their own in town, there is one person who calls Town Hall home, and that is Anette - a door in the back of the post office leads to a hallway along its back wall, and at the end of that on the right-hand side is Anette's cozy three-room home.
THE MAYOR'S HOUSE
Residents: Thomas
Thomas's house is only a few minutes' walk away from his post at Town Hall, and is cheerful and spacious, with two floors, and a largely white interior with furniture in red and wood. Prominent on the building's outside is its chimney's fireplace.
JONAH'S HOUSE
Residents: Jonah
The road to Jonah's house takes one a little out of the way - up and onto a slope that is normally considered to separate the town's limits from the wilderness and to a simple and minimalistically-furnished dwelling.
ZEKE'S HOUSE
Residents: Zeke
Unless he is sleeping, you're more likely to find Zeke at the Town Hall for work or the Inn for dinner and company than at the house surrounded by boxes with a cart parked up front and a mule in his lean-to in the back.
THE AERIE INN
Residents: Cliff, Grey
A place can always be made in the homey, lamp-lit Aerie Inn for anyone who might need it. The two people who always have one are animal trader Grey, for whom a choice room is always reserved for his stays in town; and innkeeper Cliff, who has furnished the inn's attic as a room for himself and a pair of tame falcon friends.
Room available!
- Requirements: Only promise not to stay indefinitely. The free boarding rooms are bound to crowd up fast!
BOWER VILLAGE GENERAL HEALTH
Residents: Trent
One door in the white-and-gray clinic's upper floor gives way to a room with green walls and the dark wooden furniture of a living area. Trent wouldn't dream of settling down for the night too far from a position to provide his services as a doctor.
BLACKSMITH SAIBARA
Residents: Saibara
Saibara's smithy is hot and full of mineral and fire smells, all of which he's used to enough to live among it. His whole workplace is his home; his "normal" home facilities are crammed into a space equivalent to one normal room and divided among three practically closet spaces.
GOTZ COMPANY CARPENTRY
Residents: Gotz, Bo, Lorenzo
All three of the Gotz company carpenters live in their work building. Gotz himself has always had his living space through the doorway behind the store counter - it likely shows that the upper floor including Bo and Lorenzo's rooms, being made of darker wood than the rest of the building, is significantly newer than the main floor.
ALL AND NOTHING
Residents: Louis
Louis's home is upstairs of his store and workshop - although it's in a similar to state to the ground floor, disorganized and littered with books, plans, and an eclectic assortment of stray objects. Apart from the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen and dining room, Louis keeps a couple of rather small spare rooms relatively clear as extra space.
Room available!
- Requirements: Rent of 2000G per week OR 1000G per week and assistance in cleaning.
FINE EYE TAILOR
Residents: Elena
Elena's combination living room and bedroom, with mauve wallpaper and lace and chiffon furniture and decorations, is through a door in the corner of her shop, conscientiously hidden between fabric shelves and a dress display.
LILIA FLORIST
Residents: Lilia
Lilia likes to think that there's a homey look to her shop as it is - only a stairway and a turn separates the florist shop from a kitchen and dining table, in which are likely to sit a couple of flowerpots or potted tree saplings that couldn't fit in the garden outside, with one door each to a bedroom and guest room joined by a bathroom next to the kitchen space. A
Room available!
- Requirements: Rent of 1500G per week.
MARY'S HOUSE
Residents: Mary
Mary's house looks to be a bit small on the outside; it has two floors with low ceilings, and with some of the rewards of her lucky successes as a writer, she's had such rooms cordoned out of them as a writing room with a desk and drawers with spare writing tools, a storage room, and a spare room made available "just in case", not yet furnished.
SALT & SKY FISHERY
Residents: Wes
Built into one wall behind the fishery is a kitchen, and into another is the door to the bathroom; apart from that, Wes's home is all one big space. A low table sits in front of the kitchen, and a pair of futons are tossed into the side. A small boat and spare fishing rods lean on the wall at a corner, and here and there are stacks of books on fishing and navigation and assorted supplies.
Room available!
- Requirements: Employment as a clerk in the fishery - Wes would like nothing better than more time to spend out on the water!
DE SAINTE-COQUILLE MANOR
Residents: Bridgette, Michell, Lorraine, Pierre, Tabitha
The de Sainte-Coquille Manor, situated in de Sainte-Coquille Park, is every bit as nice on the inside as it looks on the outside surrounded by trees and flowers. Between two floors are a wide foyer, a den, and a parlor that can be opened to the sun in the park on the first; and a spacious kitchen, a separate dining room, several smaller rooms broken up out of the servants' and guests' quarters, a room for each of the four de Sainte-Coquilles, and four bathrooms - one for servants, one for guests, one for Bridgette and Lorraine, and one for the boys.
To add a new residence to the listing, please provide the same information given for current homes - a name, whether something fancy, "[Character]'s House", a farm name, and so on; the names of all living there; and a short description of what the place is like. You may also post here to update existing entries any time.
In such an update, you may also offer space, whether for possible permanent residents or temporary ones, along with anything that might be required of anyone interested. It's recommended that your character ICly posts an according ad on the bulletin board as well!
